Hi Good People of PSArips, I was trying to have a trueHDR experience with the unofficial FAQ guide method but I ran into trouble at step 4. I was trying to play this movie’s HDR version in the back but movie’s bottom half of the video is completely green and the top half is pixelated nothing visible(https://ibb.co/w7R0q0X). I have followed the steps precisely. I know those are unofficial FAQs but if anyone who knows this stuff I will really appreciate it.
I’ve tried it in my laptop & no luck. I’ve accepted that my laptop is shit or I’m not worthy of such crisp colours
Hmm, well I have got a pretty decent hardware in Ryzen 5 3600 and Radeon 5700xt so I don’t think that is the issue but I guess I will have to start saving up to buy a TV or a monitor that is HDR capable to see true HDR colours as there seems to be no other way to tone HDR video to SDR anymore.

VLC 3.0+ supports native HDR to SDR conversion in video playback on any operating system. If it doesn’t work on your system then either you need to reinstall the software or download any necessary codecs that may be required.
The Unofficial FAQ is a great starter but if you face any issue related to third-party software then you have search for that in forums specially designed for those issues. As for the encode, I played it on my computer and smartphone and it runs flawlessly.
Oh yeah the movie runs great on VLC but the Colours are a little washed out in some of the HDR encodes as my Monitor does not support native HDR and the method in the unofficial f.a.q is a way to help with that issue. That’s all I was trying to get help in anyways I have given up trying to get this to work. Thanks for the reply though.

What’s the difference between these E-AC3 Atmos tracks and the TrueHD/DTS-MA Atmos tracks?

extract the file using winrar or likewise programs and place it with the movie file. keep the file name same as the video file and select audio track in your player’s menu.
use mkvtoolnix to add the eac3 audio to the video
